Is it worth paying more for 80 mm instead of 70 mm?
If you are building an energy-efficient home or live in a windy/noisy area — definitely yes. The difference in thermal insulation is noticeable, and the ability to install a thicker glazing unit/panel provides improved sound insulation. For a regular apartment in a warm climate, the 70 series may suffice.
How well is this door protected against burglars?
Millennium Plus 80 has RC3 burglar resistance certification (with appropriate fittings). This means the door can resist an experienced burglar with a crowbar and hand tools for a significant amount of time.
Is it suitable for a cottage without a vestibule?
Yes, this is one of the main advantages of the system. The high thermal insulation of the profile and threshold minimises the risk of freezing, so the door can be installed directly at the outdoor/indoor boundary (provided there is a canopy protecting from direct rain).
Can the door be opened from a phone?
Certainly. The system is compatible with all modern electric locks, fingerprint scanners, and smart home systems. You can set up automatic opening as you approach, or open the door for a courier remotely.
Can the door be made to look like wood?
Yes, aluminium can be coated using sublimation, giving it the texture of precious wood species (oak, walnut, cherry). Unlike real wood, such a door will not warp from moisture, and the finish will not peel in the sun.
Will such a heavy door sag?
Cortizo uses special 3-section hinges designed for heavy loads (up to 220 kg). With proper installation and periodic adjustment (once every 1-2 years), the door will operate smoothly for decades.
