PVC doors outperform metal ones in thermal insulation by 3-5 times. Metal is an excellent conductor of cold, so steel doors freeze and get covered with condensation. PVC with multi-chamber profile retains heat and requires no additional insulation.
How secure are PVC and aluminum doors?
With proper equipment — up to RC3 class (resistance to burglary 5+ minutes with tools). Multi-point locks, reinforced profile, steel reinforcement, and anti-burglary hardware make such doors no less reliable than steel ones.
Which material to choose: PVC or aluminum?
PVC — optimal for most homes: excellent thermal insulation, affordable price, wide choice of decor. Aluminum — for modern architecture, large structures, and when minimalist design with thin frames is important.
How long will an entrance door last?
With quality installation and basic care — 30-50 years. Profiles do not rot, do not rust, do not require painting. Hardware may require adjustment after 10-15 years, but this is standard maintenance.
Can glass be installed in an entrance door?
Yes, decorative glass inserts add light and aesthetics. Tempered or triplex glass with protection class P4A and above is used. Glass can be frosted, tinted, or patterned for privacy.
