Cortizo COR 4900 Corredera represents the evolution of sliding windows. If you appreciate the aesthetics of the COR 70 Industrial series but need a sliding design to save space, the 4900 model is your choice. Cortizo engineers increased the frame installation depth to 70 mm (the standard for thermally broken casement windows), significantly improving thermal performance. This is no longer just a "cold aluminium slider" but a fully thermally broken system capable of maintaining comfortable room temperature year-round.
The system design follows the "Hi-Tech" style: sashes and glazing beads have a distinctly rectangular shape without old-fashioned curves. This gives the window a strict, architectural appearance. Thanks to the reinforced sash construction, the system accommodates glazing units up to 36 mm thick. This opens access to quality sound insulation, allowing street noise to be blocked out, something rarely available in more budget sliding series.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions about Cortizo 4900 Corredera
What is the main difference between COR 4900 and COR 4200?
The main differences are size and thermal performance. The COR 4900 frame has a depth of 70 mm (versus 60 mm for the 4200), making it warmer and more rigid. The 4900 also features a "square" sash design, whereas the 4200 is more commonly found in rounded or simpler versions.
Is this system sufficient for a living room?
Yes, thanks to the thermal break and the ability to install warm glazing units (36 mm), the COR 4900 is suitable for heated residential spaces in the Spanish climate. It does not freeze and retains heat well, although it is slightly less airtight than casement windows.
Can all sashes be made to slide apart?
Yes, the system can be mounted on a frame with 3 tracks (tri-rail). This allows three sashes to stack into one group, opening 66% of the aperture width. This is an excellent solution for wide terrace exits.
How watertight is this system in heavy rain?
Water tightness class 7A means the window withstands direct rain impact under wind pressure. This is a very good rating for a sliding construction, achieved through quality drainage and a double brush seal contour.
Do the rollers need maintenance?
The mechanism is very reliable, but once a year it is recommended to clean the lower track (rail) of sand and dust with a vacuum cleaner. This will prevent premature roller wear and maintain smooth operation for decades.
Does this system have a threshold?
Yes, like any classic slider, there is a bottom frame. The threshold height is approximately 45-50 mm. It can be partially recessed into the floor screed during installation to make stepping over more comfortable, but it cannot be completely flush (as in lift-and-slide systems).
