Cortizo COR 4200 is the most versatile sliding system in the range, having gained popularity due to its unique ability to disappear. It is the ideal solution for balcony or terrace access in limited space conditions. The main "superpower" of this model is the Galandage option: sashes can slide into a wall cavity, opening the aperture 100%. With this system, you erase the boundaries between living room and garden, achieving a completely unobstructed passage.
Despite the elegant construction (visible sash width at the central junction can be minimized), the COR 4200 features a full thermal break, making it suitable for residential spaces. The aluminium tracks are reinforced with stainless steel inserts, ensuring incredibly light and smooth sash movement even after years of use. This is the choice for those who want maximum light and air while making rational use of every square metre of space.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions about Cortizo COR 4200
Is it difficult to install the Galandage (wall pocket) system?
The Galandage system requires planning during the shell construction or renovation stage, as a wall cavity needs to be prepared (usually from plasterboard or brick). Installing such a window in an existing opening without construction work to extend the wall is not possible.
Is 26 mm glazing sufficient for thermal insulation?
A thickness of 26 mm is standard for lightweight sliding systems. It allows installation of a quality double glazing unit (two glass panes and argon). For the Spanish climate, this is quite sufficient, but for very noisy areas or cold climates, more robust systems (such as COR 4900) should be considered.
Do sliding windows let in draughts?
The COR 4200 system uses brush (pile) seals that provide good protection against wind and dust. However, in terms of air tightness, any sliding system (except lift-and-slide) is slightly inferior to casement windows with rubber compression seals.
Can such a door be broken into by simply removing the sash?
No, the system is equipped with anti-lift elements in the upper part of the frame that block lifting of the sash from outside. When the lock is closed, removing the moving part is impossible without destroying the structure.
How do you clean sashes that overlap each other?
In the standard version, the sashes overlap each other, so to clean the outer side of the inner sash you need access from outside (balcony). However, the design allows sashes to be removed (by specialists) for maintenance when necessary.
Is there a threshold that could be a trip hazard?
The COR 4200 frame has a certain height, so a small threshold will be present. However, it can be partially recessed into the floor during installation, making the transition smoother and more convenient for passage.
