Cortizo COR 60 is the ideal choice for those who prefer the aesthetics and durability of aluminium without sacrificing home comfort. This is not the cold aluminium of the past century. The system features RPT technology (thermal break): the external and internal parts of the profile are connected by polyamide inserts that block cold transfer. The result is an elegant, rigid window that does not freeze and handles static loads excellently.
The 60 mm frame installation depth makes this system universal for window replacement in any type of building, from apartments to country cottages. Thanks to the strength of the metal, the visible profile width can be narrower than plastic equivalents, allowing more natural light into the room. COR 60 enables any design concept to be realised: from classic sashes with rounded glazing beads to strict straight lines, with the option of painting in any RAL colour or anodising.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions about Cortizo COR 60
Is COR 60 aluminium colder than plastic windows?
Aluminium itself conducts heat better than plastic, but thanks to the thermal break (polyamide insert), the COR 60 system meets modern energy-saving standards. With a good energy-efficient glazing unit, the comfort difference for an apartment in the Spanish climate will be virtually unnoticeable compared to standard PVC.
What is a "thermal break" and why is it needed?
A thermal break is a "layer" of strong plastic inside the aluminium profile. Without it, the inner frame would be ice-cold in winter, like on old balconies. The thermal break blocks temperature transfer, making the aluminium window warm and suitable for residential spaces.
Can the paint peel off aluminium over time?
At Cortizo facilities, painting is done using electrostatic powder coating followed by curing. This coating becomes part of the metal - it does not peel, does not fade in sunlight, and is far more scratch-resistant than lamination on plastic windows.
Does this system allow for large windows?
Yes, the rigidity of aluminium is its main advantage. COR 60 allows the manufacture of larger sashes than equivalent PVC systems without the risk of sagging. This is the ideal option for floor-to-ceiling glazing or wide openings.
Is maintenance of aluminium windows difficult?
Maintenance is minimal. Aluminium does not attract dust due to the absence of static (unlike PVC) and has a smooth surface. Simply wipe the frames with a damp cloth a couple of times a year. Hardware requires standard lubrication once a year.
How secure is an aluminium window against break-in attempts?
An aluminium profile is much harder to deform or pry open with a crowbar than a plastic one. Combined with mushroom-head locking pins and anti-vandal glazing (laminated glass), the COR 60 system provides a very high level of basic home security.
