Cortizo COR 70 Hoja Oculta is the architect's choice for minimalist projects. The name "Hoja Oculta" translates as "hidden sash". In this system, the sash profile is concealed behind the frame, so when viewed from outside, you see only a thin profile edge of just 66 mm. This creates a unique visual effect: fixed and operable window sections look absolutely identical, providing perfect symmetry and clean facade lines.
But here, design works hand in hand with technology. By reducing the visible profile area, the glazing surface increases, allowing 15-20% more natural light into the room compared to standard windows. At the same time, the system retains all the advantages of the 70 mm platform with thermal break: it provides excellent thermal insulation, blocks street noise, and possesses high rigidity, enabling the creation of elegant panoramic structures.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions about Cortizo COR 70 Hoja Oculta
What is "Hoja Oculta" and why is it needed?
Hoja Oculta means "hidden sash". In conventional windows, you see the frame and inside it another frame (the sash). Here, the sash is hidden behind the outer frame contour. This is a purely aesthetic solution that makes windows look more modern and sleek whilst increasing the glass area.
Are these windows much thinner than standard ones?
Visually, yes. The visible aluminium part is only 66 mm, whereas in standard uPVC or older aluminium windows, the frame width can reach 100-120 mm. This provides a significant increase in light, especially in smaller window openings.
Does the thermal insulation differ from standard COR 70?
The performance characteristics are very similar as they use the same base (70 mm depth and 35 mm thermal break). However, due to the concealed sash design, the maximum glazing thickness is limited (up to 40 mm compared to 55 mm for Industrial), so the choice of super-thick glazing units is somewhat more limited.
Are these windows harder to clean?
On the contrary, they are easier to clean. There is no protruding sash on the outside where dirt and dust usually accumulate. The smooth frame surface and minimal ledges make window maintenance quick and easy.
How does the concealed sash open?
From inside, the window looks like a conventional one with a visible sash and handle. It opens just like any other tilt-and-turn window. The "invisibility" effect only works when viewed from outside.
Does the concealed design affect security?
The concealed sash actually enhances burglar resistance because there is no visible gap between the sash and frame on the outside that could be pried with a tool. The system is fully compatible with anti-burglary hardware, providing reliable home protection.
