This is a lift-and-slide system (Lift & Slide): when you turn the substantial handle, the sash slightly lifts on rollers, allowing it to glide along the track with virtually no friction. Even if the door weighs 300 kg, a child can operate it with ease. In the closed position, the sash lowers and presses firmly against the frame with rubber gaskets, providing airtightness unattainable by conventional sliding windows.
The robust 170 mm wide frame provides exceptional structural stability, allowing spans of up to 6 metres to be covered. This is the ideal solution for exits from living rooms to gardens or poolside terraces. Thanks to the use of warm PVC and the ability to install wide glazing units, the E 170 system acts as a reliable thermal barrier, maintaining indoor comfort even in windy winter weather, unlike cold aluminium.

What is the difference between E 170 and the standard sliding C 70?
The difference is enormous. C 70 is a simple roller-based sliding system with brush seals (suitable for balconies). E 170 is a lift-and-slide system with a lifting mechanism, rubber compression seals, and the ability to create sashes 2-3 times larger and heavier. E 170 is significantly warmer and more airtight.
Is it difficult to open such a massive door?
Surprisingly, no. All the weight rests on powerful roller carriages. Thanks to the long lever handle, lifting the sash is easy, and it rolls along the track with minimal effort. Any family member can operate it.
Does this system have a high threshold?
The standard frame has some height, but E 170 allows the threshold to be recessed into the floor during installation, leaving only a low ridge visible (approximately 15-20 mm) or using a special "barrier-free" threshold. This makes passage convenient and safe.
How safe is such large glass?
Safety is absolute. Firstly, tempered glass or laminated glass is used, which is difficult to break. Secondly, in the closed (lowered) position, the sash cannot be moved or removed from the track from outside — it is locked by its own weight and the locking mechanisms.
Can E 170 be installed in a heated home?
That is its primary purpose. The PVC profile, 5 chambers, and ability to install 40 mm glazing units make this system one of the warmest sliding constructions on the market. It is ideal for living spaces and conservatories.
Are there any colour restrictions?
The system is available in the full Cortizo lamination range. You can order oak, walnut textures, or modern matte anthracite shades. The film quality guarantees resistance to fading under the Spanish sun.
