Frequently Asked Questions about Schüco AWS 65

Is this a cold profile?

No, this is "warm" aluminum. Inside the profile are polyamide inserts (thermal bridges) that interrupt the cold flow. The Uf coefficient ≈ 1.9–2.2 allows using these windows in residential spaces, though they are slightly less warm than 75-90 mm deep systems.

Can large windows be made?

Yes, this is the main advantage of aluminum. Schüco AWS 65 allows sashes up to 2.5 meters high and weighing up to 160 kg, while profiles remain narrow and elegant.

Will the paint peel off?

Aluminum is coated by powder coating or anodizing. This coating becomes part of the metal, it doesn't fade in the sun, doesn't crack, and is scratch-resistant. Any RAL colors and structural finishes are available.

What's the difference from AWS 70 or 75?

The main difference is installation depth (65 mm vs 70/75 mm) and thermal insulation level. AWS 65 is slightly "colder", so for energy-efficient cottages 75.SI is more common, while the 65 series is for offices, verandas, vestibules, or apartments in warm climates.

Is there burglary protection?

The system is certified up to RC3 burglar resistance class. Strong metal and specialized hardware with mushroom cams make these windows a serious obstacle for intruders.

Can the windows be automated?

Yes, the system is fully compatible with Schüco TipTronic hardware. Windows can open from a button, remote, or smartphone, as well as automatically for ventilation via CO2 sensors.
