Veka Softline 82 is a premium-class system designed for passive houses and cottages with high energy-saving requirements. Thanks to the increased installation width of 82 mm and 7-chamber frame construction, the profile provides record-breaking thermal insulation, preventing heat loss even in the harshest winters. The third (middle) sealing circuit divides the internal space into two chambers, creating an additional air barrier and reliably protecting the hardware from moisture.
Like all Veka systems, Softline 82 is manufactured with Class "A" walls (3 mm thickness), ensuring exceptional rigidity and durability of the structure. The enlarged rebate allows installation of glass units up to 52 mm thick with deep glass seating (25 mm), minimizing the risk of condensation at the edges and significantly improving room sound insulation.
Technical Specifications
Details
Flagship energy-efficient system. 7-chamber profile with 82 mm width and three sealing circuits (MD) for maximum heat retention.
System Design Parameters:
- Installation depth: 82 mm (energy-efficient standard).
- Number of chambers: 7 chambers in frame / 6 chambers in sash. Multi-chamber system effectively blocks air convection inside the profile.
- Profile class: Class "A" (3 mm wall). Stability and strength according to strict German standards.
- Sealing system: MD (Mitteldichtung) — three sealing circuits. Middle seal lip on the frame enhances air-tightness.
- Reinforcement: Powerful closed square profile in the frame. Provides statics required for heavy triple-chamber glass units.
Glazing and Filling Options:
- Filling thickness range: from 24 mm to 52 mm.
- Glass unit seating depth: 25 mm (deep seating technology for edge freeze protection).
- Special features: Option for bonded glass unit in the sash for creating oversized structures.
Geometry and Dimensions (Window):
- Profile package height: 124 mm.
- Sash construction: Special overlap geometry that hides the seal and provides an aesthetic appearance.
- Rebate thermal engineering: Isothermal rebate design improving temperature distribution inside the profile.
Certified Characteristics (according to DIN EN 14351-1):
- Profile thermal insulation (Uf): 1.0 W/m²K (meets passive house requirements).
- Thermal resistance (R0): 1.06 m²°C/W and higher (with thermal module in reinforcement).
- Sound insulation (Rw): up to 47-50 dB (noise protection class 5).
- Burglar resistance: up to RC3 class.
- Air permeability and rain protection: Class 4 / 9A (maximum protection thanks to the middle circuit).

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions about Veka Softline 82
Why is the third sealing circuit (MD) needed?
The middle circuit divides the space between the frame and sash into two chambers. The outer "wet" chamber drains water, while the inner "dry" chamber protects hardware from moisture and corrosion. Additionally, this creates an extra barrier against sound and drafts.
Is this system suitable for a "passive house"?
Yes, this is one of the few PVC systems that, with appropriate configuration (warm glass unit, thermal inserts), achieves Uw ≤ 0.8 W/m²K, which is required for passive house certification.
Won't the profile be too bulky?
Despite the 82 mm width, the visible mullion height (124 mm) is comparable to standard systems. The profile design is executed in the classic Softline style with rounded edges, visually lightening the structure.
What is the maximum glass thickness that can be installed?
The system is designed for glass units up to 52 mm. This allows using a combination of thick glass (6 mm), laminated glass, and wide spacer bars, achieving window sound insulation comparable to a brick wall.
Does the hardware need to be reinforced for such windows?
Windows made from 82 mm profile with 52 mm glass units are heavy. We always use reinforced hinge groups (e.g., Roto NX or Siegenia Titan) rated for sash weights of 130 kg and more.
What is the difference from Softline 76 if it also has 25 mm seating depth?
Softline 82 has 7 chambers versus 5, three sealing circuits as standard, and greater width. This provides approximately 10-15% increase in profile thermal insulation and better air-tightness in extreme wind zones.
